All the things
My entire life I've been interested in all the things.
All. The. Things.
I want to learn everything, build all the skills, ask all the questions. I want to read all the books, create all the projects, do it all.
In so many areas of my life, this serves me well. It keeps my life exciting and fun, as every day brings a little something different.
And being a jack of all trades, if you will, gives me all kinds of opportunities to help and serve others. Want to know how to bake an apple pie, design a garden, calligraph your wedding envelopes? I'm your girl.
So when I started this adventure as a journaling coach, I naturally wanted to help everyone. It makes sense. Not only do I not pigeonhole myself into one area of anything, I can see how journaling has the ability to help everyone.
Seriously. I can't think of a single area of my life that journaling can't benefit, in both my personal or professional lives.
But I've been reminded - more than once - that if I try to help everyone, I end up not helping anyone.
Ouch.
The kindest thing I can do is be clear about who I serve and how.
So, for those of you who haven't yet heard, let me introduce myself:
I'm Amanda Stern. I'm a journaling coach for entrepreneurs*, helping you to journal your way to success on your own terms.
I offer 1:1 and group coaching programs.
My newest group program, Better You, Better Business starts on July 25 and there's a spot for you if you want it.
Better You, Better Business is an 8-week program that uses journaling as the mechanism for transformation. Together we'll:
identify opportunities for growth and change
build and reinforce foundational habits to help you succeed
make a plan, break it down into reasonable chunks, and take action
recognize and celebrate your growth and progress
work through obstacles, stumbling blocks, and limiting beliefs
learn to be your own accountability partner so your growth is lasting and sustainable
And so much more.
If you are interested in using journaling to further your life, both personally and professionally - especially if you've been on the fence about it - I invite you to book a call with me this week to learn how more about the program and how you can claim your spot!
(*And if you're like me and aren't a fan of the word entrepreneur, you'll be happy to know I also work with solopreneurs, business owners, freelancers, side hustlers, go-getters, and All-the-Things-doers!)
Weekly Journal Prompts:
Use these prompts as written or as inspiration to uncover what you need in your life this week.
What is your approach to life? Are you a specialist or a generalist?
How does this way of living serve you well?
How does this way of living serve others around you?
How can you have the greatest impact on your community?
Where can you be more clear about how, who, and where you can help?
One Journaling Idea I Love:
The Brain Dump.
Whether you call it stream of consciousness, free writing, or brain dumping, this is a technique that should be in every journaler's toolbox.
I love to start my journaling this way because it captures the loose thoughts that are jumbling around in my brain so I don't have to try to remember them all. The paper can do the remembering for me.
This has many benefits - decluttering our mind so we can focus, better remembering those things because we've written them down, and clearing room so we can be creative and problem solve top the list!
Giving myself just a couple of minutes to do a quick brain dump, putting thoughts on the page helps prep me to do my best thinking and focused work.
Have you tried this? What does it do for you?
