The best time to start
Just because you didn't start when you planned doesn't mean you can't start now
We've had an exceptionally hot and dry summer here in the Northeast. And with work, building my business, family, and life in general, I just haven't found myself in my gardens as much as I had hoped.
When I finally went into my vegetable garden yesterday, I was saddened at the state of it - weeds had taken over any spare inch of soil, my cucumber plants were shriveled and done producing, squash vine borers had infested my zucchinis, and the neighborhood squirrels had feasted on any tomato that was on the verge of ripening.
I am not exaggerating when I say my garden is pretty done for the season.
And I was so sad. Until I remembered:
There are lots of crops that grow well in the fall and it's a perfect time to start a fall garden!
With the space that I've cleared pulling out the squashes and cukes, there's plenty of room for greens, radishes, beets, carrots. We're expecting some rain this week, so I'll make time to get out in my garden and lay out some seeds.
Maybe you have goals you've been meaning to work on:
That new job you were going to look for
The side hustle you were going to start
That closet that's needed to be decluttered for far too long
The exercise program you know will work for you if only you do it
That thing you know if you finally just do, you'll be one step closer to living a life that you absolutely love
They say the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The next best time to plant a tree is now.
