I am a huge fan of word games.
Fast paced word games like Taboo or Scattergories are my favorites, but I LOVE that game where you take the long word and break out all the smaller words inside it.
Finding messages hidden in writing feels like a big word game - like this word cloud I generated out of my LinkedIn content this past week.
There are so many messages:
Journaling time
Start morning right
Recognize need
Started life
Still magic
Make something every day
Look Universe(!)
Dream better
Never feeling time
Want help/Get help
Want better
Could go right
Go feel magic
Start magic
Feel right
You’re something every day
Starting recognize need
Make someone better
Never feeling better
And those are the easy ones that jump out at me.
Journaling can do so much for us. It’s a way for us to discover and unlock the magic within. To get to know ourselves - our talents, skills, gifts we bring to the universe. What we like and need and so desperately want.
I don’t always know when I pick up my pen what I’ll find reflected on the page. Sometimes what I write affirms what I know I’ve believed. And sometimes what I write feels new and fresh, something I didn’t know had been inside me all along.
The more I journal, the more I discover about myself. And the better I can show up in the world - for myself, my family, my colleagues, my community.
Journaling helps me be the best version of myself.
Even when I don’t like what I’ve discovered, because let’s face it, not everything inside us is bright and shiny.
But once it’s open and exposed to the light, I have a chance to make it beautiful.
What messages did you find in this word cloud?
What do you find when you journal?
Weekly Journal Prompts:
Use these prompts as written or as inspiration to uncover what you need in your life this week.
Write about a time when you discovered something you didn’t realize about yourself before.
How did you make this discovery about yourself?
What did it do for you to finally realize this?
What did you do with the information you learned?
How did you use it to improve your life?
How did you use it to improve the lives of those around you?
One Journaling Idea I Love:
Structured Journaling
Having a framework for journaling is a gentle way to build the practice and a great way to measure progress and track patterns over time.
There are lots of journals out there that have structured frameworks, fields you fill out each morning and/or evening. They often feature sections like 3 things you’re grateful for, 3 things that would make today great, and 1 affirmation.
I find having a framework - in addition to any other type of journaling I do each day - helps set me up for success.
For me, this includes a review of my schedule and to-do list, and then 7 daily intention setting questions that help me set the tone for my day.
I’ve created a printable PDF version of this that I keep on a clipboard near my desk throughout the day to keep my answers and my priorities top of mind.
I’ve been using this format for a while and finding it so useful I wanted to share it with all of you. You can find a copy HERE. For just $5, you can print as many copies as you need.
Like this idea, but find this structure isn’t exactly what you need? I create custom journal sheets for my clients all the time, and I can create one for you too!

Need Some Help with Your Journaling?
I work with clients 1:1 and in small groups to help them journal their way to both success on their own terms and to a life they don’t want a vacation from.
Working together, we’ll
identify opportunities for growth and progress
build foundational habits to help you succeed
take your goals and break them down into action plans so you can move forward and make them happen
overcome obstacles, stumbling blocks, and limiting beliefs
recognize and celebrate your growth and progress
learn to be your own accountability partner so your growth is lasting and sustainable
Whether you’re ready to work with me 1:1, you want a seat in my next small group program Better You, Better Business starting October 3, or you want to imagine together what journaling can help you achieve, book a call with me HERE. I can’t wait to talk with you!
