It’s easy to forget how magical we are.
We know the roles we play.
We know our responsibilities.
We know what’s on our list of things to do.
And, in theory, we know our gifts and strengths.
I’m sure, like me, you can rattle off your CliftonStrengths, your Enneagram.
You can spit out a list of what people come to you for without thinking.
You know what you’re always praised for.
But do you really believe in yourself?
In the hustle and bustle of all the doing in life,
How often do you really spend thinking about yourself?
How often do you recognize that those things you can do so easily
Are magic?
My whole life, I’ve assumed if I can do something,
Then EVERYONE must be able to do it too.
It's not hard.
I’m embarrassed to admit how old I was when I finally realized
That what comes easily to me are my gifts.
And they don’t come easily to everyone.
My job is to take those gifts and use them to make the world a better place.
There are people who need what I can offer.
Because here’s the thing that humbles and excites me every time I think on it:
There is no one else in the world exactly like you.
There is no one else in the world with your exact combination of gifts and strengths and interests and experiences.
There is no one else in the world who sees the world just like you do.
There is no one else in the world who can make the difference you can,
Just by being you.
Isn’t that amazing?
As someone once told me:
You are overflowing with wonder, awe, and marvel.
You are filled to the brim with remarkable gifts.
You are made of stardust and magic.
✨Stardust and magic.✨
Isn’t that lovely?
If we remembered that we’re unique and special
That we’re stardust and magic,
What would that do for us?
What would shift?
How would we act?
What would we do?
Who would we be?
What impact would we have?
It’s so easy for me to forget my magic.
And that’s another reason I journal every day:
It helps me remember my magic.
Both in the moment, as I’m writing
And later, whenever I revisit my journals.
I haven’t been in a habit of rereading my old journals,
But every time I do, I’m reminded that I’m smarter, stronger, and more resilient
Than I remember.
Each flip through an old volume reminds me of how many answers are found
On those pages.
This year, my theme is IMPLEMENT & INTEGRATE
And one of the things I’ll be doing is making a practice
Out of revisiting my old journals.
Making sure that what I’ve said I want to do gets done.
Making sure I’m becoming who I’ve said I want to be.
Making sure all the loose ends get tied up.
Making sure none of my magic gets lost.
How will you remember your magic today?

What shifts for you when you remember and believe that you are made of stardust and magic?
Who does that allow you to become?
What does a stardust and magic YOU do?
How does a stardust and magic YOU act? Talk? Dress? Interact with others?
How does a stardust and magic YOU treat yourself?
What impact does it have on others as you practice remembering?
